Grow

The Catholic faith, in plain words

You do not need to know everything to begin. Faith grows the way a seed does — slowly, in good soil, with light and water.

What we believe

One God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, true God and true man, who died and rose for us. The Church he founded, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting. Every Sunday we profess this together in the Creed.

How we worship

In the Mass, Christ's one sacrifice is made present and he gives himself to us in the Eucharist. The seven sacraments carry his grace into every season of a human life.

How we pray

Prayer is simply speaking and listening to God. Begin small: the Our Father, the Hail Mary, a decade of the Rosary, a few minutes of silence with a Gospel passage.

How we live

Faith becomes real in how we treat people — honesty, chastity, forgiveness, patience, and practical love of the poor. The commandments and the Beatitudes show us the shape of a life given to God.
