Who we are

A Catholic community in Bweyogerere

Our Lady Consolata Bweyogerere Catholic Parish was founded in 1985 by the Consolata Missionaries. We are part of the Gayaza Deanery · Wakiso Vicariate · Archdiocese of Kampala, and we gather across the main parish church ofSt. Thomas the Apostle Bweyogerere and two sub-parishes, Kirinya and Bukasa.

Our life together follows a simple pattern: we welcome, we encounter Christ in word and sacrament, we belong to one another, we grow in faith, and we go out to serve. Everything on this website exists to help you take the next step in that journey.

Our patroness

Mary consoles us, and leads us to Christ

Consolation

Consolata means the one who consoles. Our patroness meets us in grief, illness and worry, and stays.

Hope

Her yes opened the way for Christ. In her we learn that God's promises are kept, even slowly.

Mission

The Consolata Missionaries who founded this parish carried her name to the nations. That mission continues here.

Devotion to Mary never competes with Christ — it points to him. Whatever she asks of us is what she asked at Cana: do whatever he tells you.
